DIRECTOR & HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT

Born on 19 June 1971 in Maribor, Dujič graduated from the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, University of Ljubljana (UL FGG), in 1996. He then became employed as Assistant Intern at the Chair of Testing in Materials and Structures at said Faculty, where he continued his post-graduate studies and participated in his capacity as Assistant in the courses entitled Construction and Building Material and Experimental Analysis of Structures. In 1999, he completed his master's studies in the field of testing shear load-bearing capacity in masonry buildings, followed by a doctorate in seismic resistance of timber structures. In 2001, he received an award by the U.S. Consortium of Universities for Research in Earthquake Engineering (CUREE). In 2003, he was granted a scholarship by the Government of Japan, i.e. Japan Society for Promotion of Science, which enabled him to collaborate for two months with Japanese research institutions in the field of developing seismically resistant methods of constructing timber structures. He is involved in several European and international research projects. Furthermore, he collaborates with and occasionally gives lectures at various European faculties and research institutions. Up to 2009, he was employed at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering, where, in his capacity as researcher and expert, he mainly worked in the field of timber and composite structures. In 2006, he founded CBD d.o.o., a consulting and design company specialized in designing contemporary timber structures in seismically hazardous areas. In 2011, he received an award bestowed by the Slovenian Chamber of Engineering on account of several engineering achievements within a certain time period in the field of research and design of timber structures in seismically unstable areas. Ljuba Sancin, Civ. Eng.

PROJECT MANAGER

Born on 3 February 1985 in Trieste, Italy, Sancin graduated from the Department of Civil Engineering, University of Trieste, in 2011. She presented her diploma thesis discussing the response of timber frame structures under seismic load, their modelling and the possibilities of applying seismic insulation at a national conference in Italy, the Gruppo Nazionale di Geofisica della Terra Solida. She then proceeded to do research work on anti-seismic timber constructions within the University of Sassari, Sardinia, Italy, and in cooperation with European universities. The article was presented at the 2012 World Conference on Timber Engineering. An extended version of the article will be published in the special issue of the Bolletino di geofisica teorica e applicata magazine. In 2012, she joined CBD d.o.o. where she works as Project Manager.
