THE HIGHEST TIMBER BUILDING: we participated in the project design

Rogaška Slatina Tennis Hall
The hotel measuring 108 metres in length was expanded in front of the tennis hall in Rogaška Slatina, using RC columns distanced 15.4 m from one another. Serving as a portal of the hall, pre-stressed RC beams set up across this span were removed, and a timber structure was set up, providing equivalent load. The project concept and execution were optimum in view of the capacities of construction solutions available in the current construction practice.
2 ADDITIONAL FLOORS at Hotel Breza!
An extensive research study was conducted and seismic resistance was calculated for the building extension, with particular emphasis on mutual influences of two very different construction systems. Hotel Breza is a partially dug in RC building at Terme Olimia, with 2 floors and 2 basements (i.e. 4 floors on the other side due to the gradually descending terrain), and was extended by means of two additional floors in timber.
ONE OF THE LARGEST EXTENSIONS to existing buildings IN EUROPE!
Extension to Hotel Terme – the 4-storey masonry hotel with RC ties located at Terme Čatež will be added two extra floors in timber. An extensive study was conducted and seismic resistance was calculated for the extended building, along with the influence of additional loads and possible reliefs to the subsiding of the foundation structure.
REMARKABLE STRUCTURAL DESIGN
The single-family house located in Škofja Loka is an example of an exceptional structural design of a timber building, as it features large cantilever structures measuring app. 5 metres in length on both sides. The house design is optimum and combines three different construction systems available in timber construction.
THE LARGEST TIMBER BUILDING in Slovenia with an 8 metre OVERHANGING STRUCTURE
The Ekoprodukt corporate and warehouse building is a facility located in Komenda and made entirely of timber. The first phase represents a building measuring 1156 m2 in floor area and 7.5 metres in height (volume amounting to app. 8700 m3). The corporate area of the building includes an 8-metre cantilever overhang which represents another state-of-the-art achievement. An extension of two corporate floors is guaranteed up to the total height of 14 metres, which means a building featuring a total surface of 3740 m2 and volume of 16,200 m3.

We pride ourselves in having already developed over 150 concepts and conducted computational analyses for timber buildings across Europe, as well as over 100 static and seismic analyses for unique buildings produced by Riko hiše all over Europe, including schools and kindergartens, even in the seismically hazardous areas in Italy. We conduct project studies and develop concepts in addition to performing static, seismic and fire analyses
